The American Circus can be compared as a small mobile city, completely self sufficient: they must provide for every place where they stop; as example the movement of 148 home caravan, enormous stables, 23 huge trucks and two special trains for animals and structure transport. The material for the assembly of chapiteau, that measures m.- 50x80 and has the capacity of 6.000 seats, needs 60 wagons to move it. The assemblage takes 6 or 7 hours, to dismantle it 4 hours are sufficient and necessitates 200 persons. You must remember that during the winter the Circus goes to important towns and remain there also a month. During the summer the Circus changes place every 4 or 5 days, with all the problems that follow. The circus has an independent electricity generating group that supplies 400 kilowatt, through 2500 meters of cables. Its electric power lights up 18.000 bulbs, 520 reflectors renders all the special effects necessary especially the numbers with the elephants. The major part of the numbers take place in the three rings, to outline them 100 cubic meters of sawdust are necessary. The rings in all circuses have a standard diameter of 13 meters. In the American Circus 400 people cohabit among which, artist, musicians, dancers, technicians and staff. In a year 105.000 meals are prepared by a catering, each day 50 kg of food are consumed between pasta, meat and vegetables. We must remember that people that work in the circus have various nationalities and religions of which the cooks must take account of. Sometimes forces the cooks to strange timetables and food.
