Reached Europe in 1958, the American circus makes its debut in Spain, produced by the Feijo Castilla society, today still one of the most important Spanish impresarios. Arthur Castilla becomes president of the European Circus’s actions that before re-entering in America in 1960, continued the tournée through Portugal and France. For the new European Circus’s tournée in 1962 Arthur Castilla will go to Germany and entrust it to Carol Williams, owner of one of the greatest German’s Circus. In 1963 it is the time of Italy. The American Circus debuts at Turin on the 24th November evening, the first stage of the tour, then it will take the Circus to Milan, Genoa, Rome and Naples. The show, with it’s American tradition takes place in three rings and wins an uproarious success, such as the lack of stable structures where to exhibit in the rest of Europe, convinces the management to construct a chapiteau capable of holding 6000 seats. For the organization, the assemblage and the moving of what is similar to a mobile city. Ferdinando Togni is called with his family. They also hold the organization and promotion of the most prestigious soviet shows, the Moscow Circus, the Bolscioj’s Ballet and the Red Army’s Chorus. In those years, the Togni Group, produced a famous show "Disney on Parade", the Mexico’s National Circus and Spain’s National Circus. Finally in 1976, with the retirement of Castilla and Carol Williams the American becomes property of the entire Togni family. That same year the tournèe took them to Genoa; at the show Ranieri Grimaldi, Prince of Monaco is present: he is fascinated by the elephants number and engages the Togni family for a show in his Principality. After a while Grimaldi, meeting the American Circus at San Remo, proposes to the Tognis to participate to the Circus’s International Festival that is held every year at Monte Carlo. Flavio Togni, the Circus’s star, wins the Silver Clown with the elephant’s number. In that occasion the Tognis become the consultants of the Festivals organization until 1988. In 1989 he met Kenneth Feld, the "king" of family shows. He is the productor of shows as the Ringling Bros, Barnum & Bailey Circus, Walt Disney World On Ice and Sigfrid & Roy Show. He came to know of the fame of the Tognis. He contacts them proposing to become the stars of a great show. That will celebrate the 120° anniversary of the Barnum Circus. It is not an easy decision for Enis Togni and family. The offer arouses enthusiasm that they could not refuse it. So the adventure of the Togni started in USA. The Circus show took place in the sport palace of all America instead of the chapiteau .Part of the family remained in Italy and continued to work for the return of the Circus. They renewed the structure, they planed the tournèe , everything must be ready to restart working . In December 1991 the American Circus returned to Europe in order to begin a tour including different countries such as Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg, Holland and Italy. The American Circus in our country from 1991 till today has introduced a “show of another planet” to Naples (1991), Rome (1992), Florence (1993), Palermo (1994), Catania and Milan (1995), and Bari (1996). For three times it returned in Germany and then also France and Belgium. In 1996 the American Circus arrived in Moscow and constructed a big chapiteau colored ivory and with six tips and no poles inside. Today the American Circus exhibits under this mega structure. In 1997 the World tour begins. The Circus goes to Slovenia, Croazia and again to Holland. In November 2002 from Colonia in Germany a new show starts with the title “ galattic show” produced by David J. Morton and Enis Togni. In December it will arrive in Italy for the Christmas festivities at Rome and then Genoa. The millennium production take the name of New Millennium Show that reaches Italy with two trains used for transport , will remain for three monts.
